There is a lot of mystery about DZIs. They are the most powerful amulets that have been found and worn in the Himalayan region for centuries. They are etched beads consisting of circles (eyes) and stripes. Usually the base is agate, on which the drawings are engraved by means of acids, through heating etc. Buddhists give a meaning to the various drawings, but these beautiful amulets did exist for centuries before the arrival of Buddhism. The oldest writings state that these amulets come from the Gods and came from heaven. Suppose Erich von Däniken is right in "Were the Gods cosmonauts" ... Our current computer language also consists of dots and stripes! It is difficult to find real, old DZIs, they are also very expensive. There are also beautiful "new generation" DZIs which are affordable and beautiful. Several celebrities carry a DZI, as there are Sting, Reinhold Messner, Steven Seagal and many others.
